Are we best served by a News media that focuses on personal problems or national problems?

April 24th, 2009
Eywrshp asked:

Are we best served by our news media when it focuses on personal issues rather that national ones?
A crises in a families life may be of immediate local concern but does it serve us for the national media to spend hours and days on issues that are in essence personal. Would it not be better if the media would focus on National issues that affect us daily? Will Paris Hilton or Mike Vic’s problems affect any of us? What about health care, crime, jobs, housing, unemployment, racism, government corruption, gas prices, how are the tax dollars being spent and why are we still in a war that many of believe is wrong.
What good is a news media TELEVISION. RADIO, NEWS PAPER When its only purpose is to distract from the real issues and brainwash the American public into looking the other way.

Why is the news media, seemingly, trying to use its influence to destroy the world economy?

supergeek87 asked:

Maybe things are a little bit bad. But the news media seems to be pushing for things to be worse. I even know of a few people who have been laid off in preemptive lay-offs; the company that laid them off, technically, wasn’t hurting yet. But they laid them off because they expected to be hurting in the future, mostly because of new reports and forecasts.

Why does the news media report items considered confidential?

August 28th, 2008
flhye asked:

Prince Harry will be deployed to Iraq! Do we have to tell everybody including the enemy? It seems the media is running out of things to report.
Constantly read things in the news from a source that cannot be disclosed because he did not have the authority to say. Well shouldn’t he keep his mouth shut!!
What are your thoughts?

Do you think the news media is partly to blame on bad economy?

June 22nd, 2008
SteveO1608 asked:

Think about it every day you only here the negative news from the media. Never anything positive. So then people get fearful and then tend to follow into the trend of the way the media wants us to go so they can report their stories of the hardships that Americans are going through. And some people are that is a fact. But most people are still doing well. I think the media should report the positive news just as much as their negative news and then people will start spending money again to boost the economy. What is your thoughts?
